My Review on Lion King II — Simba’s Pride

Lion King II — Simba’s Pride is the story of the conflict between two tribes of lions, the Pridelanders and the Outsiders. Some of the characters are back from the Lion King original, like Timon, Pumbaa, Simba, and Nala. New characters include Simba and Nala’s daughter Kiara, as well as Zira and her son Kovu who are members of the Outsiders tribe. Zira hates the Pridelanders and wants Kovu to kill Simba so he can become king of the Pridelands.
Kovu is accepted into the Pridelanders as Kiara’s friend, but with the intent of killing Simba. Soon Kovu finds himself caring for Kiara, her friends and her family. He faces the decision whether or not to kill Simba and become King, or betray his mother and the Outsiders.
I really loved this movie because there was comedy, and lots of action. The music was new to me, however I still enjoyed it. I would recommend this movie to anyone who has seen and enjoyed the Lion King, because this movie is a continuation of the Circle of Life story. If you have the opportunity to watch the special edition DVD there are a lot of fun extras.
